Each year the New York State Saddle Horse Association (NYSSHA) gives out over 250 year-end awards in over 60 categories to eligible horses and riders that compete at NYSSHA sanctioned shows. For those who love to trail ride, NYSSHA promotes trail riding and presents year-end awards for those riders that log the most hours trail riding. To be eligible for these year-end awards you must be a member of NYSSHA, and be nominated by completing the NYSSHA Equitation Points Nomination Sheet,  NYSSHA Performance Points Nomination Sheet or the NYSSHA Trail Riding Program Sheet. To be a member of the NYSSHA, exhibitors must belong to one of the member clubs. THE ADIRONDACK MINIATURE HORSE CLUB, THE EASTERN DISTRICT OF THE NEW YORK STATE MORGAN HORSE SOCIETY, THE EASTERN NEW YORK PLANTATION WALKING HORSE CLUB, THE SACANDAGA SADDLE CLUB, THE SILVER SPURS RIDING CLUB, THE YO-SCO-HARO RIDING CLUB, CLASSIC COUNTRY HORSE ASSOCIATION OR THE RUGMAKERS RIDING CLUB. If you would like to become a member of one of the affiliated club please contact them directly.  Info on each member club can be found by clicking on their individual pages, found along the left hand margin of the home page. For information about a particular show, please contact the member club sponsoring the show. On each show program there is contact info. Pre-entry as a rule are not required (check each event, some shows require that certain classes be pre-entered), but they are encouraged.  Most member clubs offer discounts and incentives to pre-entered exhibitors and/or charge additional post-entry fees.  For general rules and info, the NYSSHA rulebook is available for you to view or print.
